Unboxing – Marzia Camping Box

After what feels like an eternity, the next sub-box has arrived! Camping. Well, personally I strongly dislike camping. Everything is dirty, sticky, smelly, bug covered; the ground is lumpy and hard to sleep on, tent set-up is a nightmare, and the outhouses – oh don’t even get me started. I grew up way, way out on a farm – I know what getting dirty and working hard is about. That’s why I live in the city now. But I digress, this is actually about the Marzia Camping Box! Which (thankfully) is just in the name.

As the postal worker walked towards my desk, box in hand, I could hear a clanking sound of the contents. Oh nooooooo! Is something broken?

‘More mystery boxes for Sarah’, I can overhear a colleague. I have all my packages delivered to my office after my poor Freddie Prinze Jr. Cookbook was found in the mud under a hedge. The Amazon box torn apart nearby, steps from my front door.

Lid opened, and everything is in perfect condition! The clanking sound? This beauty!

I think this is my favorite item in the box. I love the size, colour, design, artwork, it’s perfect! Seen here full of steamy tea.

Now we have a little kerchief, or bandana.

It’s good for cruising I suppose. Would you call that tan or beige? Either way, not quite the colour for me.

For fun and functionality, we have a Comic Book, notepad, and Forest Creatures pencil.

You can never have too many notepads and pencils! Grocery lists don’t write themselves.

Scent Trunk Custom Perfume – Marzia’s Summer Fragrance

Cute lemon sticker, cute spray bottle, scent… not so great. The first issue is that I cannot wear most commercial perfumes. Perfumes are a mixture of fragrant essential oils or aroma compounds, fixatives and solvents. Most hand lotions, shampoos, soap, hair sprays, and of course perfume, carry types of chemically altered scents and solvents that give me a terrible migraine.  This is one of those.

I actually don’t mind the smell of bug spray, but then an overwhelming odor of musk takes over and lingers. Sorry Marzia, in the least offensive way possible, this is not a good combination.

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads

Quick and easy, a full-size container of these toning treatment pads. I find them to be very refreshing and do not leave any feeling of residue. I have sensitive skin and found this product to be very gentle.

Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Serum

Fresh is such a wonderful brand. Their products are top quality and I love receiving the samples in the sub-boxes. The face serum is amazing. It leaves my skin silky soft to the touch, it feels natural, and no greasy residue.
My only hope is that they stop selling their products in countries that require animal testing, such as China. If they are as…”deeply committed to the elimination of animal testing” as they say on their webpage, they will hopefully push to eliminate animal testing 100% across the board. Also from their website – “We do not test our products on animals nor do we permit others to do so except where it is required by law”. Fresh – let’s make it 100% cruelty free!

Wet n Wild Megaglo Makeup Stick

I was surprised to see this in the box because I have always seen it as a low-end brand. Much to my surprise I really like how it works as a blush! I’ve paired it with my Too Faced Sweet Peach glow bronzer to see how it holds up, and it’s still on, still looking smooth. Blending is really easy, it’s creamy, and easy to apply.
I’ve not used a cream blush before, so i’m not sure if it’s standard that it has an unusual smell? Kind of like wax crayons. Once applied there is no odor.

NYX Illuminating Stick in Rose Petal Pop

This has a lot of pigment to it! I tested it as a blush… far too pink for my skin tone and I found it took a lot of effort to bend it. Possibly because of how fair my complexion is, but it took a lot of brush work.
I then tried it as a lip colour. Nope. While I can appreciate the rich saturation of the product, again, it’s just not my colour.
